Who is Changing Lives Through Jesus Inc.?
We are a Christian Canadian work that helps children and communities in the Philippines by providing the means so they can have an education and other care. We are incorporated in the Philippines.
Who are the key people?
Vincent Hayhurst is the founder and president of Changing Lives Through Jesus Inc. He is a Canadian based near Vancouver in British Columbia. He had been a committed Christian for half a century and has worked as a photographer prior to founding CLTJI for many corporations and also for Christian missions and Evangelistic ministries.
There is a board of proven and Senior Filipino Pastors who work with Vincent and local Filipino personal are hired to administer the work in the Philippines.
What is our mission?
"To change lives, for ever, one at a time" is our Mission Statement.
We believe that a persons needs are spiritual, mental and physical, our goal is to meet these needs, and in many ways.
We are a Christian Community with a mission to take care of children and their families in a variety of ways. To be involved with regular and spiritual education, plus teaching life skills to both our orphans and others who become part of our community.
We will also strive towards self and God sufficiency as much as possible, through various endeavors.
The Community will operate based on the central teaching of Jesus and the Bible. To fulfill the mandate that Jesus gave to His followers is to make disciples and to teach them to observe everything that He has commanded. Mt 28v 19&20.
We are part of the Church and work as and with the Church Body to serve as His servants as He is the One who changes lives, both now and forever.
How are donation used?
At present all donated moneys go directly to the child or project that the money is donated to with no deduction for administration costs. We do however cover some administration costs from any general (not specific) donations given.
Vincent Hayhurst covers his own costs, including travel etc from his own resources which to date the Lord has provided for.
Does CLTJI work through local churches?
The answer is yes, we work through any Christian Church that follows scriptual principals and beliefs. We prefer to partner each church with a church in the West of similar theological beliefs etc or even denomination where possible. The children and the sponsoring is done between the two churches. We will then help administer the help and verify that that help is used as intended.
Does CLTJI require the sponsored child to attend church and church related children's services etc.?
The sponsored child and the child's family are all required to attend the church and be under the care of its Pastor etc. The result from this requirement is that many adults that are related to the child are coming to Christ. At present we are seeing about two adult baptisms for every child sponsored. So your aid giving of helping a child is also helping to bring many to Christ. We also have many more children that need sponsors, with families who want to be part of this program than we have sponsors or funds available. |
